C3 teams up with researchers in the US Naval Air Research Centre at China Lake (California) and the Office of Naval Research Global (ONR-Global) to produce advanced synthetic fuels
C3’s Science Director (Nigel Scrutton) has partnered with the US Naval Centre at China Lake, California in a programme funded by the Office of Naval Research Global to develop bio-based production routes for linalool at scale. Through its Visiting Scientists Program and Research Grants, ONR-Global has funded researchers from C3 Biotechnologies Ltd/University of Manchester, in a coordinated effort with the United Kingdom’s Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), to develop biosynthetic routes to the important fuel precursor linalool. As the commercial partner, C3 Biotechnologies Ltd is tasked with developing scaled manufacturing pathways for linalool production.
